Brewing Green Tea

This is a home tested method.

For Brewing Green Tea, it should be allowed to steep for about three minutes, although some types require as much as ten.

The strength should be varied by changing the amount of tea leaves used, not by changing the steeping time.

No one will like to have a bitter cup specially early in the morning. The first cup must be the best invigorator, as it can change one's whole mood which in turn determines how he or she is going to face the rest of the day.

Since this type has special health benefits, the preparation must be given extra attention.

The amount of water and temperature play a vital role in making that happy cup of liquid.

• Use three portions of boiling water with one portion of room temperature water.

• Water, according to most accounts, should be around 80 °C to 85 °C (176 °F to 185 °F) - the higher the quality of the leaves, the lower the temperature. Hotter water will burn the leaves, producing a bitter taste.

Preferably, the container in which the leaf is steeped, the mug, or pot should also be warmed beforehand so that it does not immediately cool down.

• High-quality item can have new water added as many as five or more times, depending on variety, at increasingly high temperatures.

• If allowed for a total period of 7 to 10 minutes, it will be fragrant, mellow in taste, devoid of any bitterness and can be consumed without any sweetener.
